All of our Trainers are Certified Professional Dog Trainers
What is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer?
Did you know that you don’t need any training to call yourself a dog trainer? We thought that was crazy too! That’s why all of our trainers have a background of training from the below listed institutions along with the minimum of 300 recorded training hours and the Certified Council for Professional Dog trainers. To stay certified, our trainers need to complete continuing education in the training and animal behavior fields. On top of that, our trainers are constantly striving to be better, learning fear-free methods, Tellington TTouch for pets, and other new training techniques. We want your pets to learn from the best, so we have high standards for our trainers.
Here is some more information about our accreditations and methods!

Animal Behavior College (ABC) is a private vocational school that offers career training programs in the animal industry, primarily focused on pet care and training. Founded in 1998, the school provides online and hands-on education in various animal-related fields.
Fear Free training is a philosophy and set of practices designed to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress in pets, during handling, training, veterinary visits, and everyday interactions.
It’s based on the idea that animals learn better, trust more, and live healthier lives when they are treated with compassionate, science-based, low-stress techniques.
What Our Programs Look Like
At TREAT, all of our training comes to you! Depending on the goals you have for your pet, we may recommend starting with one session or a full program.
Programs are for owners and dogs with big goals like baseline obedience skills for puppies, manners inside and outside of the home, and help with behavioral problems like fear and reactivity to people, dogs, and cats. At TREAT, we love creating custom training programs to help you achieve your goals!
For people visiting Austin or those that want daily excursions, we offer our Austin Adventure Package. This includes training around some of Austin’s most beautiful and iconic spots like South Congress, Ladybird Lake, Auditorium Shores, or the Domain! We even offer pet photography to capture your pet’s special day. The Austin Adventure Package can be modified for reactive or stressed pups so that they can enjoy the city too!
Individual sessions are perfect for help on things that may not be applicable in a training program like help with grooming, administering medications without stress, some cat cases, and housebreaking. Cats are extremely sensitive and may be too stressed during a program to truly learn, and house breaking is a 24 hour endeavor! We look at each case and each owner’s goals to determine where to go after the first session.
At TREAT, we work with owners to best help your pets. We provide training notes for you to use after sessions, and follow ups whenever you need them create lasting success- we don’t just train pets!
